QuikFire Electrical upgrades switchboards across Perth, replacing ceramic fuses and old boards with modern enclosures fitted with RCBO safety switches on every circuit. Most home upgrades are completed in one day, include a Certificate of Electrical Compliance, and are quoted as a fixed price with no call-out fee.
We manage the entire process, from assessing your existing wiring and earthing to replacing outdated fuses with modern circuit breakers, for both homes and commercial properties. Every upgrade improves safety, reliability and compliance, and ends with a full test of every circuit.
Signs your switchboard needs upgrading
If any of these sound familiar, your board is due for a look. Most are safety issues worth sorting sooner rather than later.
Ceramic or rewireable fuses
Screw-in ceramic fuses, or a fuse you rewire by hand, mean an old board that can't protect you like modern circuit breakers.
No safety switches (RCDs)
WA requires safety switches on most circuits. If your board has none, it's a real risk to your family and worth fixing now.
Power keeps tripping
Circuits that drop out or won't reset are often a sign of an overloaded or failing switchboard, not just a one-off fault.
Buzzing, heat or scorch marks
Any warmth, a burning smell, or discolouration on the board needs attention straight away. Don't wait on this one.
Adding aircon, EV or solar
New ducted aircon, an EV charger, solar or a renovation can push an older board past what it was built to handle.
Buying, selling or renting
Upgrading protects your property value and helps you meet safety obligations for tenants and buyers at handover.

Questions, answered
Can't see yours? Call 1300 843 063 and we'll talk it through.
How long does a switchboard upgrade take?
Most home upgrades are completed in a single day. Larger homes or commercial boards with many circuits can take longer, and we'll tell you exactly what to expect in your quote.
Will my power be off the whole time?
No. We isolate power only while it's needed and keep the outage as short as possible. We'll let you know the timing on the day so you can plan around it.
Do I legally need safety switches?
In WA, safety switches (RCDs) are required on most circuits, and on all circuits before a property is sold or leased. Our upgrade brings your board up to the current standard.
How much does a switchboard upgrade cost?
It depends on the size of the board, the number of circuits and access. We assess it, quote a fixed price in writing, and there's no call-out fee. You approve the price before any work starts.
Do you provide a certificate of compliance?
Yes. Every upgrade comes with a Certificate of Electrical Compliance once the work is tested and signed off, which is important for insurance, sales and leasing.
Can you upgrade my board for solar or an EV charger?
Absolutely. We regularly upgrade boards to support solar, battery systems and EV chargers, and can size it to leave room for what you're planning next.
